Horsepower. Accept no substitutes. |
There are several reasons why speed to market is so important. First, delay robs the commercialization process of momentum, and corresponding enthusiasm, and contributes to the growing potential that the process will simply grind to a halt and never reach the market at all. Second, when the delay results from closing up shop in order to go out and raise the next round of financing, inefficiencies creep in that contribute to even more delay and capital leaks. These can be in the form of loss of experienced personnel, lack of appropriate R&D or production facilities, accidental damage to records and files or equipment, and a variety of other possibilities that slow the progress toward market introduction even further. Third, and most important, is the potentially disastrous effect delay can have when there's the prospect of a follow-on innovation catching up and pre-empting the commercialization process entirely. StarAnchor believes fundamentally that this possibility is always a threat, and we find that it is nearly always disregarded - with poor to catastrophic consequences. |
